Garden Party

Saturday, May 25th, 11 AM — 4 PM

Come have a picnic with us in our newly named Russell Rose Garden. There's live music, delicious food, and the museum is open!

All are welcome, so bring the whole family, including the young ones! The garden is in bloom and beautiful to behold. You can bring a blanket and your own picnic, or you can buy food and drink at the event, including popcorn and baked goods. There will be live music, a vintage clothing sale and artist market, and guided tours of the museum. We will raffle off some great prizes, so buy your raffle tickets as well. And there will be a renaming ceremony for our newly named Russell Rose Garden. Join the fun!

Let us know you’re coming!

Women’s History Month

Saturday, March 30th 2024, 11 AM — 3:30 PM

The Grass Valley Museum is unusual for gold rush sites in its interpretation of women's history. We take visitors from the nuns to the notorious. We show the town's history through the lens of women, from the legendary Lola Montez and Lotta Crabtree to the under-told stories of orphans and single parent households.

Lynn Schugren — piano recital

Sunday, March 24th 2024, 2 PM

Ms. Schugren will play works by Beethoven and Schumann, and in honor of women composers, Amy Beach and local composer Alexis Alrich.
