African Dance and Drum classes
Dance Class Tuesdays, 5:30 – 7:00 PM
Tuesdays @ 4pm
Moussa Camara, from Bamako, Mali,
teaches Drum class. 15$

Moussa has been playing drums since the age of 9 yrs old.
Over the next 22 yrs of his life he studied under numerous
masters of many different styles of drumming. In 2000 he
went on tour all over the country of France performing
African music. He has a wonderful spirit, and is quite an
asset to our community! Come feel the light and warmth of
his incredible energy with the Djembe drum!
Following drum classes on Tuesdays is a cooperative dance
class taught alternately by Sorcha Mulick, Lauren Goodwin,
and Lisa Anderson, from 5:30 to 7pm 10$-12$

Sorcha and Moussa
Sorcha has studied Malian dance from various masters on her
trips to Africa over the last 10+ years. She strives to keep
the tradition as best as possible by observing and
committing the details of the dance to memory. Sorcha's
classes are incredible! Check out her superb style!
Lauren has 18 years of dance experience in many different
practices. She has traveled to Africa to study Malian dance,
and leads an exceptional class! Lauren has beautiful form,
she will make you smile!
Lisa leads an energetic and fun class rooted from her
studies of traditional West African Guinea style dance and
Congolese dance. She has been studying African drumming and
dancing for over a decade, and is a gifted teacher!
Central African/Congolese Dance Classes
Thursdays, 5:00 – 6:30 PM
Levels of instruction offered for beginners and those with
some experience.
Thursdays @
5pm is Congolese style dance taught by Lisa Anderson and Cai
Sorlien.10$
Cai Sorlien has been sharing his extensive knowledge of
Congolese Culture through dance, drum, and song for over 20
years. He is truly a wonderful elder in our community, and
we are lucky to have him!!
Sarah Keller is another honored teacher in our community,
who has brought us together through her love of dance and
music. She has traveled to Africa, and devoted countless
hours to studying dance with masters here in the US. Sarah
will be guest teaching periodically, Guinea and Congolese
style dance.
All classes are open to every level, beginner, intermediate,
and advanced! We also have
frequent Master teachers come out to teach special drum and
dance workshops.
